  • Djibouti International Free Trade Zone: since 2014, China Merchants Port and CM Shekou on the greenfield development, construction and financing of a 48-sq km free trade zone and supporting infrastructure packages, including ports, roads, warehouses, power supplies and telecoms in Djibouti. This project received the 2019 Project of the Year Award by China Law and Practice and is the largest free trade zone in Africa to date.
  • Djibouti Damerjog Industrial Zone: a Chinese consortium on the financing, construction and project development of the Damerjog Industrial Zone in Djibouti.
  • Hulhumalé airport economic zone in the Maldives: Beijing Urban Construction Group on its greenfield planning, development and construction of an integrated airport economic zone (comprising hotels, office towers, a conference center, duty-free shops and shopping malls) on Hulhumalé Island.
  • Industrial zone development in East Africa: Orient International on its investment in a mega-project covering fish processing, fishing and industrial zone development in Eritrea.
  • Doraleh Multi-Purpose Port project: The Export-Import Bank of China on a US dollar term loan facility to the Djibouti government for the construction and development of Doraleh Port.
  • Djibouti old port redevelopment project: China Merchants Property Development on the negotiation and finalization of the framework agreement and on the overall project structuring for its old port redevelopment project in Djibouti.
  • Colombia port terminal: A Chinese SOE on its acquisition of port terminal and warehouse assets in Colombia.

  • Cathay International on the construction, operation and offtake for a group of 16 water plants with a total designed daily treatment capacity of 2.3 mega tonnes per day.
  • Retail commercial complex in Wangfujing, Beijing China: from 2005 to 2015 Hongkong Land, a member of the Jardine Group, on the RMB60 billion greenfield development, construction, and financing of an integrated retail complex with an 80-room Mandarin Oriental hotel in the Wangfujing area of Beijing, China. The project is Hongkong Land’s flagship commercial development project in China.
  • Citibank on completion risk management, fit-out, migration and occupancy of a built-to-specification 24-floor office tower in Manila constructed by a Dubai-Philippines development consortium with an option to purchase. The building is now the headquarters of Citibank in Manila.
