Fangda assisted Ant Group in its acquisition of Bright Smart Securities (HK.1428)

Fangda acted as PRC legal counsel of Ant Group in its acquisition of the majority shares in Bright Smart Securities (HK.1428). The transaction involves approximately 858 million shares, representing 50.55% of the total issued shares, with a total consideration of HK$2.814 billion. The transaction was signed and announced in April 2025, received approval from the relevant Chinese authorities on March 16 and closed on March 30.

Fangda as PRC counsel advised Ant Group on the acquisition from a PRC law perspective. The Fangda team on this deal was led by partner Lily YIN, and core team members include Tracy LONG and Merlin SONG.
