Professional Background

Before joining Fangda Partners in 2025, Mr. Rahman practiced at an Indonesian law firm for almost nine years, focusing on corporate and commercial law, including real property, banking and finance, and natural resources. He also served for eight years as General Counsel at CFLD Indonesia, the Indonesian affiliate of China Fortune Land Development, a Chinese company listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Mr. Rahman is qualified in the Republic of Indonesia.

Represented PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero), Tbk., one of the biggest SOE Bank in Indonesia, in its acquisition of PT Bank Agroniaga, Tbk., to be converted into its sharia bank.
Represented shareholders of PT Bank Bukopin, Tbk., in its shares sale to Bosowa Group.
Represented PT Bank Mandiri (Persero), Tbk., in its acquisition of 2% shares of AXA Mandiri Insurance.
Represented Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd., a major plantation company in Malaysia, in its acquisition of several plantation companies in Indonesia located in Sumatera and Kalimantan.
Represented several SOEs sharia bank in Indonesia, in various sharia syndication facilities to PT KutilangPaksi Mas (KPM) for power plant and HSD (high supply diesel) project in TanjungBatu and Lowa, Kalimantan Timur and Belawan 1 and Belawan 2, Sumatera Utara, in the amount of Rp1,185 trillion and USD79 million.
Represented several SOE conventional and sharia compliant banks in connection with the first club deal facility in Indonesia to PT Citra Sari Makmur, Tbk., a telecommunication network service provider company.
Represented China Sonangol Pte. Ltd. in connection with its acquisition of majority equity interest in the project company owning Jimbaran Intercontinental Hotel in Bali, Indonesia.
Represented Keppel Land in connection with its acquisition of majority equity interest in the project company owning Jakarta Garden City, mega-residential project located in East Jakarta, Indonesia.
Represented Keppel Land in connection with its acquisition of IFC Tower 2, a commercial office building located in Central Jakarta.
Represented China Sonangol Pte. Ltd. in respect of the financing arrangements for the development of the Indonesia Tower, located in Central Jakarta.
Represented IJM Berhad in connection with its acquisition of HGU land located in Lampung, Indonesia.
Represented CFLD Indonesia in a joint venture with Mitsubishi Estate Asia for the development of commercial area and landed house located in Tangerang, Indonesia.
