REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS AND CASES
- Represented dozens of foreign IP holders in various legal proceedings in China, including patent infringement lawsuits, patent invalidation proceedings, trademark infringement lawsuits, trademark opposition procedures, trademark invalidation actions, unfair competition litigation, copyright lawsuits, domain name disputes, and trade secret protection lawsuits
- Advised both international and Chinese media and entertainment companies in dispute resolutions and in non-contentious, transactional matters with respect to motion pictures, video games, smartphone apps, holiday resorts, etc.
- Defended in association with local German lawyers a publicly listed Chinese chemical company in a patent infringement lawsuit in Düsseldorf District Court
- Advised a Dutch flower breeding company in enforcing its plant breeder’s rights against unauthorized sales of propagation materials in China
- Advised a Pritzker prize-winning US architecture firm in protecting architecture-related intellectual property
- Advised various multinational corporations operating in China on data protection, data localization, e-commerce and cybersecurity issues
- Acted as the victim’s lawyer in a number of IP criminal theft proceedings, including criminal lawsuits for trademark infringement and trade secret encroachment
- Litigated before China’s Supreme People’s Court on multiple occasions, including having represented a French global automotive supplier in the first-ever patent infringement lawsuit at the Intellectual Property Court of China’s Supreme People’s Court
- Represented US multinational corporations in commercial arbitration in China and Switzerland in entirely English-language hearings for IP-related disputes
